Grüner Pass - Austrian App for Safe Storage of COVID-19 Certificates
Grüner Pass is a free Android app developed by BRZ GmbH that allows the safe storage of EU-compliant SARS-CoV-2 certificates from Austria on mobile phones. The app is designed to facilitate the presentation of the certificates during 3-G proof checks and international travel. The app is operated by the Austrian Federal Computing Center (BRZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMSGPK).
The app enables users to add SARS-CoV-2 certificates to the Grüner Pass app by scanning the QR code on the certificate or adding it directly as a PDF in the app. The app allows users to keep their certificates for 3-G verification digital and secure. The app also allows multiple certificates, including those of family members, to be stored in it. The use of the Grüner Pass app is voluntary and free of charge, and all data remains in the app and is not uploaded to third-party servers at any time. The certificates are protected by a digital signature, making them forgery-proof.
